What volleyball shoes work best for flat feet?

The best volleyball shoes for flat feet are cushioned, stable models with a locked-down heel, led in 2026 by the ASICS Sky Elite FF MT 3 and the Mizuno Wave Momentum 3. Both pair thick midsoles with midfoot structure that compensates for a fallen arch, and both work even better with an aftermarket arch support insole.

Do volleyball shoes have arch support?

No, almost no volleyball shoe has meaningful built-in arch support. The stock insole is typically a thin foam sheet, which is why flat-footed players get the biggest upgrade from swapping it for a structured insole like the Superfeet All-Purpose Support.

Can I put custom orthotics in volleyball shoes?

Yes, as long as the shoe has a removable insole, your orthotics can go straight in. The Mizuno Wave Momentum 3 is the safest choice here since Mizuno officially confirms its sockliner is removable.

What are the cheapest volleyball shoes that work for flat feet?

The adidas Novaflight 2 is the best affordable option thanks to its Bounce cushioning, and the ASICS Gel-Rocket 12 is the bargain route if you pair it with a supportive insole. The Gel-Rocket alone is too thin underfoot for flat feet, but its Trusstic midfoot stability plus a Superfeet insole makes a very playable setup for around $120 all-in.

Are basketball shoes good for volleyball players with flat feet?

Yes, cushioned basketball shoes are often excellent for flat-footed volleyball players, and the Nike LeBron 21 is the standout example. Basketball flagships carry more heel cushioning and stiffer midfoot structure than most volleyball shoes, which is exactly what a flat arch needs on landings.

How often should I replace volleyball shoes if I have flat feet?

Replace volleyball shoes roughly every six months of regular play, or sooner if the midsole feels flat or the shoe visibly leans inward on a table. Flat-footed players compress cushioning faster than players with neutral arches, and a dead midsole quietly brings all the old aches back.
