Are you looking for very specifically colored volleyball shoes? Perhaps you want something to match your team’s colors?
This article is a great big list of the top volleyball shoes currently in production in certain unique colorways, so you can find a pair of kicks in the exact color you need!
We’ll start out by going through some of the top colorful volleyball shoes before diving deeper into more specific styles.
A word of caution, there’s a massive global shortage of volleyball shoes right, so finding uniquely colored volleyball shoes that are the perfect size is a bit of a long shot, so try not to get your hopes up…
For that reason I’ve expanded upon the definition of ‘volleyball shoe’ just a little bit to include basketball shoes, general court shoes, as well as a select few running shoes.
If a particular shoe performs poorly on the volleyball court, I’ll look to exclude it from the list entirely, or make sure to include that information so you’re aware of the risks.
Let’s begin!
Best Colorful Volleyball Shoes
The list of colorful volleyball shoes I’ve put together is a pretty solid one!
Starting out with the Adidas Crazyflight, this is undoubtedly Adidas’ best volleyball shoe. It’s known for its a super bouncy cushion with excellent impact protection, making it great for hitters.
The Li-Ning All City 9 is one of the most well designed basketball shoes in recent years and it performs exceptionally well on a volleyball court with a great low to the ground feel, solid traction, and decent cushioning.
The Harden Stepback 2 is a super stylish budget shoe coming in a variety of interesting colorways.
The KD14 is one of the greatest basketball shoes of all time and has top tier cushioning and traction, making it a great all-rounder volleyball shoe as well.
Oh and for those wondering, you absolutely can wear basketball shoes for volleyball!
The Crazyflight is Adidas’ best all-rounder volleyball shoe which is solid across the board. It’s most well known for its exceptional bounce and shock absorption.
The Li-Ning All City range are excellent shoes for setters as well as liberos and outside hitters who prefer a low to the ground feel with excellent traction.
Best Volleyball Shoes With Colorful Bottoms
There’s remarkably few shoes with colorful bottoms that resemble volleyball shoes, but I’ve managed to find 4 vibrantly colored kicks that work very well on the volleyball court.
The All City 10 is one of my favorite shoes for setters, liberos, and outside hitters because of its great lightweight feel, strong traction, and decent cushioning. Plus they look incredible!
One of the nicest feeling cushioning setups on a budget basketball shoe, the Lebron Witness 4 is a great, supportive option for anyone hitting the ball a lot.
Colorful Bottoms
Nike Lebron 18
The Lebron 18 has one of the most ridiculous midsoles in the history of shoes. The bounce is simply out of this world. These are some of my favorite shoes for middle blockers as well as opposites who want some extra height and great impact protection.
This is a running shoe and, although very well cushioned, isn’t exactly designed for volleyball and will likely underperform when it comes to lateral movements. Please read my article Are running shoes good for volleyball? before purchasing these for the volleyball court!
Best Purple Volleyball Shoes
There’s very few volleyball shoes in the purple colorway, unfortunately. But if you squint your eyes, the Mizuno Wave Momentums are kind of purple?
Best Purple & Black Volleyball Shoes
The only volleyball shoes that come in purple and black are some relatively old Mizuno designs. Be warned that the Tornados run very small and the Lightnings tend to run on the bigger side!
One of the most durable volleyball shoes of all time, the Wave Tornado X also has excellent cushioning compared to their stiff predecessors.
What they lack in durability, they make up for in comfort. Be sure to order 1/2 a size larger than usual for one of the smoothest rides you’ll ever experience on a volleyball court!
Best Pink Volleyball Shoes
Techincally speaking, none of these pink shoes are volleyball shoes. However the Curry 9s and Stabil Next Gens are extremely popular shoes often worn by volleyballers.
The Curry 9s are some of my top picks for setters and liberos who enjoy a low to the ground feel, god tier traction, and a really lightweight shoe.
This is an absolutely beautiful vintage shoe that is pretty rare to come by these days. With really solid cushioning, they’re definitely not a bad option for front court players.
Technically these are a budget tennis shoes, so they’re great in terms of lateral stability but probably best worn by liberos and setters. Spikers will benefit from a bit more cushioning.
Best Pink & Black Volleyball Shoes
If pink and black is your thing, you’re in luck because the Lightning Z is actually a pretty decent volleyball shoe!
Known for its great cushioning, durability, and comfort, the Wave Lightning Z comes in this really cool subtle pink and black colorway.
Best Orange Volleyball Shoes
You won’t find many orange volleyball shoes around the place, but the good news is the Wave Momentum is in my top 2 volleyball shoes of all time, so it’s a great choice!
The original wave momentums come in orange and many consider them superior to the Momentum 2s due to their excellent cushioning and impact protection.
Best Red Volleyball Shoes
If your team colors are red, you’re in luck. You’re completely spoiled for choice with some of the absolute best volleyball shoes of all time coming in this colorway!
In my opinion, this is the greatest volleyball shoe ever created by a pretty big margin. Check out my full review here.
Red Volleyball Shoes
Mizuno Wave Momentum 2
The Momentum 2 is my second highest ranked volleyball shoe of all time! It’s ultra springy and hyper responsive making it perfect for setters, liberos, and outside hitters.
Red Volleyball Shoes
Adidas Dame 7 Extply
One of my top basketball shoes for volleyball, I’ve been playing volleyball in Dame 7s for years and they are absolutely amazing. One of the best cushions out there for opposites and middles.
Red Volleyball Shoes
Under Armour Spawn 3
The UA Spawn 3 is one of the best produced budget shoes for volleyball. With surprisingly good cushioning as well as excellent traction, this is a great budget shoe for outsides, setters, and liberos.
Best Black & Red Volleyball Shoes
One of the more popular team colors, the black and red volleyball shoes appear to have gone out of style in recent years. But there will usually always be some old Mizunos you can rely on!
Black & Red Volleyball Shoes
Mizuno Wave Tornado 5
Growing up playing volleyball I feel like I saw this shoe absolutely everywhere. So far as durability goes, this thing will never die – and they’re still around 10+ years later!
Black & Red Volleyball Shoes
Mizuno Lightning Z5
Okay the Z5 definitely isn’t that old, and it’s actually a really excellent all-round volleyball shoe, excelling in comfort. Be sure to order the right size as they tend to run slightly small.
Best Red & White Volleyball Shoes
Asics have come through with the goods if your team colors are red and white! You’re spoiled for choice between extreme versatility or top of the line volleyball shoes!
Red & White Volleyball Shoes
Asics Sky Elite FF MT
The Sky Elites, specifically in the mid top, are my favorite and highest ranked volleyball shoe of all time. I’m not sure it would have been humanly possible to produce a higher quality volleyball shoe!
Red & White Volleyball Shoes
Asics Gel-Rocket 9
The Gel-Rockets are an absolutely classic court shoe that’s been worn by volleyballers since time immemorial. Traction, responsiveness, lateral support: excellent. Cushion is not awful either!
Best Blue Volleyball Shoes
There’s a decent amount of quality blue volleyball shoes to choose from on this list. Make sure you read the descriptions as there’s a couple on this list I would rather not recommend!
Blue Volleyball Shoes
Asics Sky Elite FF
The GOAT volleyball shoe is also available in the blue colorway. This is definitely the top shoe on this list, by a good margin.
Blue Volleyball Shoes
Lefus Court Shoes
Yes, they’re extremely blue, but they’re generic court shoes not designed specifically for volleyball. If you’re a libero or setter who operates out of the back court, these could still be a decent option.
Best Navy Blue Volleyball Shoes
If you’re looking for a slightly more subtle blue, the navy colorway is quite well represented with some solid kicks.
Navy Blue Volleyball Shoes
Mizuno Wave Momentum
The is the single best Mizuno shoe for anyone doing a high volume of jumping each week. It’s super lightweight and has really excellent shock absorption so it’ll save your knees!
Navy Blue Volleyball Shoes
Asics Upcourt 5
The Upcourt line is another general court shoe and, although plenty of volleyballers wear them, I don’t recommend them for hitters as they don’t have particularly good cushioning.
Best Light Blue Volleyball Shoes
If you’re looking for baby blue or sky blue volleyball shoes, there’s some pretty decent options available!
Light Blue Volleyball Shoes
Asics Netburner Ballistic FF
The Netburner Ballistic is one of Asics top volleyball shoes – I rank them as the second best Asics volleyball shoes for their exceptional cushioning for athletes who jump a lot.
Light Blue Volleyball Shoes
Mizuno Wave Lightning Z6
The latest in the line of Wave Lightning shoes from Mizuno is easily Mizuno’s best shoe outside of their Momentum range.
Light Blue Volleyball Shoes
Mizuno Wave Luminous 2
If you value comfort at an affordable price, you’ll love the Luminous 2. Easily one of Mizuno’s better budget shoes.
Blue & White Volleyball Shoes
I want to point out that the Gel-Dedicate 7 is actually a tennis shoe, so it’s not the greatest option for volleyballers doing lots of jumping… Although the other Asics on this list are really solid volleyball shoes!
Blue & White Volleyball Shoes
Asics Gel-Rocket 9
This is one of the most popular volleyball shoes of all time. Cushioning is so so, but traction and responsiveness is out of this world!
Blue & White Volleyball Shoes
Asics Upcourt 5
The Upcourt 5s are very similar to Gel-Rockets, just a budget friendly version. I wouldn’t recommend either of these shoes for spikers, but they’re both excellent entry level shoes for setters and liberos.
Blue & White Volleyball Shoes
Asics Gel-Dedicate 7
Again, I’d probably steer clear of this shoe if you’re doing any amount of jumping as tennis shoes aren’t exactly configured for shock absorption in the same way volleyball shoes are.
Best Neon/Bright Volleyball Shoes
Bit of a mixed bag with the bright colored volleyball shoes… Most of these are court shoes with fairly average cushioning, so hitters should proceed with caution!
Neon Volleyball Shoes
Adidas Stabil Next Gen
The Stabil Next Gen is one of my favorite volleyball shoes for liberos and setters who prefer feeling low to the ground and need god tier traction and responsiveness. The cushioning is not so great for jumping in.
Neon Volleyball Shoes
Asics Gel-Rocket 10
I guess this qualifies as neon, right? The Gel-Rocket 10s are the most versatile volleyball shoe on the market, great for outdoors use and even work fine for grass volleyball!
Neon Volleyball Shoes
Lefus Court Shoes
If you’re in desperate need of neon blue volleyball shoes, the Lefus court shoes are your budget option to the Sky Elite FFs (which also come in a bright blue). Remember that these are a budget shoe for a reason!
Best Yellow Volleyball Shoes
If yellow is your thing, you’ve got a couple of decent options available, each catering to very different player types.
Yellow Volleyball Shoes
Adidas Crazyflight X 2
The Crazyflight is Adidas’ top tier volleyball shoe. With excellent bounce and cushioning, these are great for anyone doing plenty of spiking.
Yellow Volleyball Shoes
UA Curry Flow 9
The Curry 9 is my premium recommendation for back court specialists who want to feel connected to the court and need an ultra grippy and responsive shoe for maximum agility.
Best Black & Gold Volleyball Shoes
Unfortunately there isn’t much in the way of black and gold volleyball shoes on today’s market.
Black & Gold Volleyball Shoes
Asics Gel-Rocket 10
Trust the Gel-Rockets to come through with the goods! Fun fact, these are the shoes worn by Karasuno setter, Tobio Kageyama in the Haikyuu volleyball anime!
Best White & Gold Volleyball Shoes
I personally think the white and gold colorway is one of the most stylish designs out there and I have no idea why more shoes don’t come in these colors!
White & Gold Volleyball Shoes
UA HOVR Highlight Ace
Vying for the title of sexiest volleyball shoe ever, the Highlight Ace is an ultra supportive, really bouncy and well cushioned high top volleyball shoe, great for middles and opposites.
White & Gold Volleyball Shoes
Adidas Dame 7
As far as design goes, you either love it or hate it! Whatever you think, the Dame 7 is easily one of the best shoes you can wear on a volleyball court if you’re a spiker.
White & Gold Volleyball Shoes
Asics Upcourt 4
Looking for the fancy colorway but don’t want to spend much cash? The Upcourt 4 is the most affordable white and gold volleyball shoe there is!
Closing Remarks
I want to reiterate the fact that a number of these shoes aren’t ideal for volleyball, but at least each of them will be fairly safe to play in.
On the other hand, many of them are really excellent volleyball shoes which I hope I’ve made quite clear in the descriptions!
